Robin Brown is a professional in the business of group and corporate travel. Looking further back, however, he joined the tourism industry in 1991 direct from school, as a safari guide working for Shearwater. He and his wife Jo eventually purchased a safari business, Canoeing Safaris ( Cansaf ), from Shearwater in 1998. With time they developed this company into a specialist DMC focusing on the region of Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia.
Robin was educated in Zimbabwe finishing his ‘A’ levels at St Georges College in Harare. He went on to qualify as a Professional Guide in 1996. He has broad experience in the complete spectrum that makes up the tourism industry in Southern Africa. Since 2002 Robin has headed up a team of staff, conducting over one hundred corporate events, including conferences, team building events, communication workshops and corporate incentives, within the region.
Robin has played a major role in designing and running a unique type of Team Building that Cansaf calls Creative Teaming. “We were looking for something less military that would appeal to all walks of life.”
Robin is a husband of 24 years and a dedicated father of two grown children.
Jo Brown is the company secretary for a number of tourism businesses in Southern Africa. She has worked in the tourism industry for over 24 years being involved on all facets including operations, sales and more recently focussing on financial management. She started in the industry directly from school, progressing from a sales consultant for Shearwater to running the accounts for Cansaf for the last 17 years.
She also provides operational and administration support for the Team Building programs. Her passion for tourism and for the wild areas of Africa have been a key driving force in her career.
